So my first attempt on a blog, here we go. Finally got back out with my camera yesterday, got it back the day before we went on holiday and since we got back been busy with stuff I guess, not sure what. Anyway back with camera in hand hopefully in good condition, not sure though as the customer service from Finicon, the company that does repair for Nikon in Spain is absolutely a disaster. They have not done what I asked them to do according to the invoice, also did not tell me they received it, did't tell they fixed it and no tracking for the return. They did however tell me they could not tell me as they did not have my email even after they emailed me twice in run up to sending the camera in. They also say the technician I am not allowed to speak to have done more than what's on the invoice. So if that is true and the camera is fixed I have to say it is cheap but I am not convinced it is fixed. Anyway got back out yesterday, first to my delight I spotted one of our residents Bonnelis Eagles, I assume as it was alone it's the young one waiting for its parents to come back although it is big enough to hunt for itself now, but hey it is Spanish so probably spoilt rotten. Unfortunately too far away to photograph. A bit further up the mountain I came across a fair few Iberian Ibexes and got some decent shots, some shown here in this blog. Camera seemed to work fine but that is not a surprise as they are big and slow movers and the light was good.
So, so far so good but I don't really trust my camera yet, next week I'll go out in search for some Golden Eagles, if I find them and they let me come close enough I guess I find out then if the camera is repaired or not.
Not much else to write about, next few weeks and months should be busy, got lots of places and animals to see and photograph should all go well. Need some rain though, Laguna Del Salobral is dry as dry can be and I am sure really low level in most lagunas, will find out soon enough. And also the rutting season starts in a few weeks, always good for observing and photograph the Iberian Ibexes. Leave it for now though with the last photo of a young bull trying to impress!
