Photographs taken locally with deep respect for wildlife and nature and hopefully with a punk rock attitude.
The idea behind this website is to show off Mancomunidad Subbeticas which is Nature Park Sierras Subbeticas and surrounding areas in the south of Cordoba province, Spain. I will only show photos from this area and they will have as small carbon footprint as possible. I am a big fan of quite a few famous wildlife and landscape photographers but I am not sure if theirs stunning photos of Elephants, Lions, Penguins or Polar Bears can justify the carbon footprint those photos have. And do we really need more even if great photos of these magnificent animals, think we all know what they look like. And another thing, some if not all of these photographers call themselves environmentalists. Well they are sure not all the same and also I/we got to remember tourists with cameras bring needed income to communities in many a places who got stunning wildlife to show off. So I should shut t.. f... up. Still like to do it my way though.
Now this will obviously affect the photos as we don't have elephants, lions or any other so-called exotic animals here although I find the Iberian Ibexes, the birds of prey we got here among them Golden Eagles exotic and now possibly, hopefully Iberian Lynx witch is truly exotic. Yet to even see one, working on it.
Landscape wise it is beautiful with stunning mountains, rivers, lagoons and olive groves. Unfortunately some of the lagoons are now dry as climate change takes its toll. Still get some stunning landscape shots during the cooler months of the year.
Oliveras and culture will also come into it as it is rather spectacular, from Flamenco to Semana Santa. History has also left its rather good looking marks on the terrain, towns and villages so I try to get some of that in too. I will edit this as I go along, add new photos or overlooked ones from the past and surly remove some while thinking what the hell was I thinking. So that's about it from me, Ken Wood with background in photo journalism and rock'n'roll roadie, not much more to say as I like to look forward rather than backwards.
Hey what about that logo, rather cool I thought, AI made when I first named the site, I do promise though it will be the only AI generated thing on this website.
Thanks for looking!
